Jessica Simpson’s wedding day beauty look

“It’ll definitely be extravagant. I don’t do things small,” Jessica Simpson hinted in an interview with The Today Show back in May about her wedding day plans. We have to say, if you haven’t seen her viral wedding video yet you are missing out! Jessica sure wasn’t kidding; this wedding was amazing.

The bride’s amazing table settings and extravagant flowers were set in place for her 275 guests as they enjoyed the stunning “Great Expectations” themed affair. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson descended down the aisle to the 1998 film adaptation of Great Expectations. The ceremony was held at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California on July 5. The whole concept for the reception was inspired by the movie. The room was dripping in a romantic wedding color pallet of elegant golds and greens paired with soft pinks and plums, which came together and created a magical and flower-filled atmosphere. It looked like a beautiful ballroom in the middle of a forest. The couples’ videographer was smart to open the video by showing the room and wedding decor first because once the bride came into view, it was impossible for anyone to take their eyes off of her.

We are obsessed with how amazing she looked. She was effortlessly stunning in her custom made, champagne and gold multi-layer Carolina Herrera wedding gown. The gown was a showstopper, and Jessica knew it. She paired the wedding dress with subtle but stunning Neil Lane 12-carat drop diamond earrings and flawless new age bridal hair and makeup. With such an extravagant gown, the bride decided to tame her blonde hair in a seemly simple, beautifully bridal half updo. In addition, Jessica donned a cathedral length veil to drape down the isle, as well as Brian Atwood shoes. As for any bride, she needed something blue, so Carolina added a blue ribbon inside the gown.

Many brides lose sight of what they are supposed to look like on their wedding day, but not Jessica. Instead of getting lost in the bold smokey eyes or bright statement lip many brides fall for, she felt it was best to simply showcase the best version of herself on her wedding day! Simpson’s makeup artist Karan Mitchell chose a romantic bridal palette for the bride’s makeup and she nailed it. Mitchell chose to highlight the bride’s glowing skin and had an ethereal bridal makeup palette of plum, orchid, and pink that perfectly played up the bride’s dark eyes and pouty lips.

Jessica and her bridal party, which consisted of 12 bridesmaids and two maids of honor (sister Ashlee and mother Tina), donned coordinating custom wedding day nude manis and pedis. Each member of the bridal party was given their very own shade to complement their mismatched gowns. It’s safe to say no detail in this wedding was overlooked.

Considering that Jess is quite the fashionista, we couldn’t expect her to look anything short of the most stunning bride on her big day, and that’s just what she did. We aren’t surprised that Jessica’s flawless, effortless bridal hair and makeup style has been on high request. Not just with the brides of San Diego, but all over the country, and we couldn’t be happier. We agree that it is best to highlight the best version of yourself on your big day!
