Inspired by Bridal Fashion Week

With the New Year comes resolutions full of diet plans, revamped workout schedules…and new bridal hair and makeup trends! Even though Bridal Fashion Week has come and gone, it has left us with amazing hair and makeup styles to test out before Spring 2017. While the main spectacle was obviously the gorgeous wedding gowns, it was hard to miss the detailed wedding hair and makeup choices made by these amazing designers. Therefore, (drum roll please…) we decided to pick out our 7 favorite wedding hairstyles from the bridal fashion show for you to try out in 2017!

Temperley London

Alice Temperley’s collection was the perfect combination of classic and bohemian. To emulate these wedding styles in your wedding day hair, incorporate wedding hair accessories like flower crowns or small flower clips. Alice chose to pair these accessories with a beachy wave to finish off this look for a more laidback bride.

Marchesa

Marchesa’s designers chose to create a fairytale like bride which featured many floral details. With an added touch of pearls, crystals, and other metals, this floral vibe became much more polished. Wedding hair accessories to use with this style would be a mix of florals (flower clips or crowns) and a glamorous touch (like pearls). This look would pair beautifully with a half up-half down wedding hairstyle.

Jenny Packham

It might be our love of country music but Jenny Packham’s rustic collection is one of our faves. Jenny’s gowns were complimented by a simple wedding hairstyle: straight across bangs, beachy waves, and layers framing her bride’s face. To add a little sparkle, this wedding look could easily be accessorized by a simple beaded headband.

Lela Rose

This collection boasted a bride whose wedding hair and makeup routine was fresh, easy, and natural. Lela opted for a subtle low bridal bun and wedding makeup with a healthy glow. She knew the importance of minimalism!

Elie Saab

His bride was the epitome of glamorous. With inspiration drawn from Taylor Swift, Ciara, and Sarah Jessica Parker, Elie chose a wedding hairstyle that was heavily embellished. He used wedding hair accessories like veils and coordinating headbands (with Swarovski crystals!) to ensure his bride stood out on the runway.

Oscar de la Renta

If you’re a bride looking for a soft, ladylike collection, look no further. This line created a very modern bridal look with a simple pulled back wedding hairstyle that let the bride’s natural beauty shine through. Never underestimate the power of a ponytail!

Angel Sanchez

Last but not least, this collection created swoon-worthy gowns that embodied what it meant to be a traditional bride. He played with volume in his choice of wedding hairstyle for his bride.  To try this on your own, try teasing near the crown/top of your head to give a traditional wedding bun or ponytail some extra umph!

Whether or not your New Year’s resolutions include flower crowns and veils with Swarovski crystals, these designers know what they’re doing…so if you’re ready for the challenge, take some of these ideas to your wedding hairstylist and channel the brides from Bridal Fashion Week!
